SHORT SLEEVE JACQUARD TEE
Once sold, the edition is closed.
The jacquard motif carries the collection's governing logic in its most compressed form. Vintage folk-art game boards — painted wood surfaces in red, black, cream, and blue, their geometry worn and imprecise with age — provided the graphic source material. Checkerboards bordered by scalloped circles. Geometric arrangements of diamonds, crescents, and squares, each field containing its own separate pattern language.
That surface energy — the clash of registers within a single object — was the starting point. The plaid stripe clash board from the studio archive extends this further: traditional African historical textiles reread through optical distortion, both in the single garment and in how multiple pieces meet across a look.
The tee is a deliberately understated vehicle for this complexity. Short sleeves, a clean neckline, the graphic running across the body in full. Tucked or untucked, the motif holds.
Produced in an edition of 96 pieces.
