Silk Twill Trousers in Rust and Brown Check
Once sold, the edition is closed.
The wide leg in silk twill is the collection's fullest silhouette — an uninterrupted fall of cloth from hip to floor, the fabric given the entire length of the body to travel. In the rust and brown check, that fall becomes a field of pattern: the grid running from waistband to hem, the warm tones of the Archive I colour study present across the entire garment.
The plaid stripe clash governs this piece as it governs the collection. Two grid traditions — the tartan structure and the checked kanga cloth — held simultaneously, the result emerging from the overlap rather than from either source alone. On twill, the pattern is warm and slightly liquid, the silk carrying it with a different weight than woven cloth would.
Side seam pockets. Bespoke engraved tortoiseshell button fastening at the waist, commissioned from a Parisian artisan button maker.
