Square Neck Knitted Jacquard Tank

Once sold, the edition is closed.

The square neckline is not a styling preference. A grid worn on the body will fight any curved neckline it meets, so the neck is drawn flat across the collarbone and the shoulder cut narrow, which holds the grid square and resolves the neckline and the pattern as a single decision rather than two competing ones.

The gameboard that governs the surface is a domestic object, made by hand and used until worn — the geometry is precise but the execution is not, and the jacquard carries that unevenness rather than correcting it. The square neck belongs to the same register: it is the neckline of school uniform and of formal dress, a shape that frames rather than reveals, and one that appears repeatedly across the archive photographs that inform this collection. Clothing that has been decided in advance and worn without adjustment.
