Neon Floral Dress

A floral built in two registers on a chartreuse silk ground: broad strokes of green laid in first, loose enough to read as brushwork rather than repeat, then a red-orange line drawn over them, tracing petals the brush only implied. Neither layer sits exactly on the other, so the print holds the slight misregister of something made by hand. Against the light the cloth is sheer and the flowers thin to a stain and a line.
The dress is held on one shoulder, the cloth gathered into the strap and released, falling in a single length to the floor. At the opposite hip the fabric is caught and twisted once, so the drape breaks and re-gathers rather than hanging flat — the one point of construction in a garment that is otherwise cloth, allowed to fall. Worn sheer or layered; the dress does not decide.
